Hope you guys have been doing well. I usually publish a post on Friday but did not have the time to write my post this week. So I thought I'd say a quick hi and share with you what I have been busy with..... apart from keeping house and running around my two kids.
I am so excited at the compliments I received on this cake that I thought I'd share it with you today instead of next week.
This is my Yellow Cake recipe (coming up) with my favorite Homemade Vanilla Buttercream, Homemade Fondant and of course Royal Icing.
This the the front view....

When I posted my oriental string work cake last week upset about my camera. I was amazed at the response I received from some of you.
In just two days; I received about 18 responses in the form of comments and emails disappointed and concerned at my loss of pictures. Some gave me suggestions regarding my camera too.
I must say I was touched but mostly I realized; that like me there are so many out there that would like to learn these techniques but cannot afford it or do not have the opportunity.
I promised you guys that I would make a tutorial the next time but guess what.... soon summer sets in and there is no way I'm doing Oriental String work on a non-fruit cake in summer.. Which means.... it's now or next winter.
That is why I decided to do this cake again and share the progress pictures with you sooner.
The original plan for this cake was to do Royal Icing Extensions work on the side with ribbon insertion on the bottom and the hand painted plaque on the top. Oh well.....
Next week I shall post progress pictures of both, Oriental String work as well as the Royal Icing Extensions work.
So, until next week, Stay in touch and have a good weekend.
Thanks for stopping by.
