Proposal Cake

I have a couple of cakes that I still haven't shared with you.. here's one.

My business tag line is - unforgettable cakes for memorable occasion and this could not be more true in the case of this cake. 

This Valentines day I had a very sweet young man come to order a Valentine cake for this girl friend.  He seemed very confused and unsure about what he wants and very hesitant about almost every design I showed him.

Finally; he told me the reason for all the hesitation. He has tried to propose to her almost four times but has cold feet every single time. He planned to take her for Valentines dinner and propose her this time.

We went thru several designs and finally decided to make a nice round cake decorated delicately with small sugar blossoms around. A circle of mini blossoms on the top with her name in the middle.

The night before Valentines day he called me and said.... "I'm never going to do it! I will chicken out at the e'nth minute again. Can you do me a favor?write the words 'Marry Me' on the cake and there will be no going back for me" 

So that's what I did 

He called me the next day, and told me how excited and romantic she thought the idea of the cake was and felt as if writing it on the cake was like putting a tattoo on his heart for her.

They are to be married in September and I will be of course be doing the wedding cake.
