I also made this Gum paste Bakugan besides the cake for him.
What do you think?
This is my Chocolate Sheet Cake recipe with Vanilla Buttercream and Home made Sugar paste / Fondant.
Almost a year ago I put up a video on how to paint on fondant. For the purpose of simplicity I showed a very simple painting there ( Homer Simpson family). I used the same technique on this cake.
Let me share some of the progress pictures with you.
Here's the sheet cake crumb coated.
covered in white homemade fondant.
As I showed in the video, you print the image you want from the internet.
Trace the image on the parchment or baking paper using a food grade pencil.
Then transfer the design on to the cake.
Here you can see I have transferred both the designs.
Next, start painting using food gel colors. Some people prefer to use alcohol but I prefer to use water.
As long as you do not drown you fondant in excess water, nothing is going to happen. I spoke about this more in my post on Hand Painted cookies. Remember?
Both the designs are now completed.
Next, I could have painted the flames as well but I thought the flames made of gum paste might look better.
For the flames I marbles red, orange and yellow. I used a template from the internet for this too.
As you can see the marbling is very bright red in some pieces and bring yellow in some pieces. I did this on purpose.
Next I added the names and birthday number.
For the gum paste Bakugan figure, I was unable to take pictures. But If you have been following my blog you will see that most of the techniques I used to make this figure I already have shown you on some post before. For example.
I showed you how to make the pants and shoes in my gum paste Homer Simpson post as well as my gum paste Santa clause post. The technique is the same just difference in size.
If you are a member on my website you have access to my free video showing you how to make a gum paste man where I showed you how to make the body and shoes too. The face is almost similar to the baby face but not completely. Give it a try and I'm sure you will succeed.
I hope you like this post. Until next time.
Thanks for stopping by.
