Member Contribution - Cakes made by blog members

Today I want to share with you pictures of cakes that were done by two of my blog members using my blog recipes and tutorials. Swarna and Shalu not only frequent my blog but always show their support and appreciation with their comments.

With almost 25 video tutorials and 100 blog posts containing recipes and tutorials it not surprising if I told you that I am always replying to emails which most often contain questions and clarifications on how to do something.

Of course I reply to them all and always end my email with; let me know how it goes or do let me know how you do.

Some times I do get people who come back letting me know how they did but too embarrassed to share with me their pictures.
Some reply happy and thrilled with their achievements, while some wish they did better....  but very rarely do I get people who send me pictures of their work with a note of thank you.
Honestly;makes my day.

So let me share with you pictures from Swarna who made this Castle Cake and Shalu who made these cupcakes with the Easter bunnies that I showed you.  I am so happy to see how well they did and mostly how happy it made them.

First - Swarna's Castle Cake.

A note from Swarna
I made this castle cake using mostly recipes and ideas found in this blog.
For the top tier I used the yellow cake recipe and made two 8 " round cakes ,
For the bottom tier I used the double chocolate chocolate cake  recipe 1  1/2 times and made
two 9*13 sheet cakes
And I also used the Buttercream recipe for filling as well as frosting the cake.

I made the fondant daisies and turrets with marshmallow fondant ,of course the next on my to do
list is the sugarpaste recipe from this blog. And to finish of I used tinted coconut for grass, and crushed
 crackers for sand.
All in all I am quite pleased for the way it turned, not to mention my daughter was delighted.

All the recipes I made from this blog so far are  amazing.(I tried sugar cookies and strawberry jello cake too).
Thanks alot Veena.
Keep up the good work.

Next -  Shalu who made these bunny and cupcake. She also got her first order by doing these cupcakes. Congrats to you Shalu. I hope you get many more orders.

Here's a note from Shalu
I'm Shalu from Mumbai,India.I have made these cupcakes for my sis colleagues from your Devil chocolate cake recipe frosted with your amazing Chocolate ganache frosting

This Chocolate cupcakes was a huge hit including your  Marzipan recipe  for the bunnies with
carrots.  Everybody loved it and i even got my 1st cupcake order too.

I've browsed a lot of wedding cakes and baking sites, and none are as supportive, informative, and accurate as yours. I hope you get told this every day :) Oh, and, of course, your cakes are incredible.

The Italian Buttercream is now become my family favorite..Finally! A superb, dark chocolate cake that meets every expectation for flavor, moistness, texture and yes, appearance!
I will be using this recipe for the rest of my born days.
Thank you Veena, for sharing this with us.
Love ya!!

Thanks Swarna and Shalu for sharing your cake pictures with me and my blog. It's great to get feedback and to see that my post are useful. It's really a good feeling to see that my efforts are being appreciated. Encourages me to share more.

Until next time.
Happy caking.

    1. Your very welcome Shalu. Regarding your cookie cutters. I usually store mine in transparent plastic boxes. I have about 200 plus cookies cutters so it's not always possible to organize them well. It all depends on how often you use and how many you have. Most important is to keep them clean esp if they are metal so they don't rust.
      Hope this helps.

    1. Your very welcome Swarna, Thanks for contributing.
I did receive your email today but have been too busy baking 200 cupcakes so could not reply.
The pictures I have are currently enough for this post. You could send me the others and I may use them on another post in future.
      Thanks.
