Babay sleeping in the clouds cake for a Baby Britt.

Today I want to share with you a very very sweet cake I made for a baby boy's Britt.

I know the parent well because they have ordered cakes from me as well as recommended me to other customers. They asked me to make a cake for their baby's Britt and also trusted me with the design. I love it when I'm given such creative freedom.

I've made a sleeping baby cake before so this time I wanted to make something new, something different and unique. So this is what I came up with.

Beautiful, Isn't it?
This is two Hexagon cakes 8" and 6" - The light and fluffy Vanilla cake with Strawberry Buttercream and Homemade sugar paste.

Here's the top of the cake.
By the way for the clouds... Just roll random size sugar paste into balls, clump them all together.
Then roll another large piece of fondant and drape all the balls together with the sheet of fondant.
Make sure you smooth the curves so you get a nice cloud.
I think a marbled white and light blue with also give a good effect - but I wanted mine white here.
I then added some pearl luster unevenly.... to created some shading.
You see the baby's face. It's done exactly the same way I showed you in my member video on my website - how to make a baby face.
Instead of making eyes all you do is draw the lashes. For a girl I'd add some curved hair lashes.
Will share more tomorrow. Have a good day.

Thanks for stopping by.
