Surfer and surfboard Ocean Theme Cake

First, I want to say thanks to those that sent me the lovely comments and emails congratulating me. Appreciate you taking the time to write to me. 

Today, I want to share with you this cake I made. The star of the birthday is of course crazy about surfing so the wife asked me to make this as a surprise for her husband.

What do you think of my modelling? I have never made a figure half dressed before so was quite happy that it turned out good.  I was initially planning to make him with a surfers suit but thought this might look much better. Gave it a try and was happy with the outcome.

I was so happy with the marbling I got on the fondant too.. I almost wanted to change my mind about adding the Royal Icing waves... But again decided to go with the original plan. 

As you can see, the rest of the cake is fairly simple - I swirled some Royal Icing for waves, and molded some fish, shells and weeds freehand. Use some brown sugar for the sand.

This is my Simple yet moist chocolate cake with Chocolate fudge and Vanilla Buttercream and homemade sugar paste. 

The wife was happy with the design, I still have to hear from her more after the party.
