My Family's Christmas Cake

I have been so busy this whole week I had no time to make a cake for my family. I did make cookies which I shared yesterday but my son was still so upset that we did not make a Christmas cake..

He again wanted Santa and Snowman on this cake too but I convinced him that we should make some thing different for a change.

Well, this is what I could make at short notice. It's my Double Chocolate Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Ganache and Classic French Buttercream ( I will post the recipe for that soon) and of course my homemade Sugar paste recipe.

Oh I just realized, my last post was 200th posts. Can you believe it? Just over a year and we have 200 posts on this blog already...wow.. Thanks guys.

Once again - Season's Greetings to you all.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Dear Veena,
Happy Holidays to you and your family. You have a very beautiful family and your kids are very cute.
New Year is the time to count your blessings and say thank you to God for everything he has given you during the year. I think this year you were a big blessing to me thru both your blogs.
I always thought I did not have any skills in cooking and baking, but when I saw your post on baking a cake from scratch I made a cake from scratch. It was so perfect and everybody at home was so happy I was encouraged to try more. During this year I made so many cakes from your blog, my family now thinks that I made good at making cakes. I also found that baking makes me happy.
Your step by step pictures and videos are so helpful - I also made a princess cake for my daughter, a McQueen cake for my son, a ball cake for my husband and I made Christmas cake this year at home too.
Thank you so much. My cakes are not so pretty as yours but I hope they will soon. Then I will share pictures with you.
I also tried a lot of recipes from your food blog - Quiche, pecan pie, goat cheese, bread, tomato sauce from scratch, Babka and some others. You make delicious food and they always turn out perfect for me. I always keep your blog open on my I phone when I am making your recipes because I use the step by step pictures.
Today, I want to say thank you for sharing all your wonderful recipes and tuetorials with us and for helping women like me be better moms and cook good food for our family.
Your passion for what you do is so infectious it makes me what to do more all the time. Every time I go to your blog it inspires me to cook.
I know that you get nothing from the blog and it is only an act of kindness but I do hope that a few thanks from women like me will make God shower his blessings on you especially your daughter.

I hope she will grow well and make you proud soon. My daughter is also a child with special needs and I know how hard it is. That is why I admire you more for doing so much and yet sharing so much.
Wish you and your family a very Happy New Year.

  2. Thank you Trisha for your kind words. I am so overwhelmed with your comment that I am lost for words.
I am so glad to know my blog has helped you in many ways. I really feel blessed to have people like you on my blog that make me want to do more.
Nothing is more encouraging than to know that what you do means something to others too.
I do know how hard it is with a child with special needs and I do hope things will be ok for you too.
Once again thank you for your kind words.
