Christmas Igloo Cake

My first Christmas cake this year! Well, actually it was not done as a Christmas but as Birthday cake inspired by Christmas.
The little eight year old is Jewish so does not celebrate Christmas. The family use to live from the US about two years ago and the kids really miss the holidays in the US. They have fond memories of decorated Christmas trees and building snowman. She remembered her grandpa use to build her an old sitting snowman. I
This cake was ordered from the US by the birthday girls mom’s best friend as a gift. She asked me to throw in a bit of bazooka pink which is the girls favorite color, hence the scarfs and berries are Pink not red.
It was amazing to here the mom call and say thank you – just bought the spirit of Christmas to life.
Hope you like it.

Well, I thought you might be interested to see how I made the cake so I left the video on while I was working. So here's a timelapse video on how I made this cake.

I have also shown you how to make the Penguins and snowman on two separate videos. You can find those videos on my you tube channel or  on this blog here.
How to make Gum paste Penguins and How to make Gum paste Snowman.

Here are some additional pictures of the cake
How to make my Christmas trees and Santa can also be found here on my Last years Christmas Cake
a different version of the snowman. Two other versions can be found on my Video
and of course the classic Santa stuck in the chimney.
and a view from the top.

and I am thrilled that my cake made it to the Daily Top 3 on Cakes Decor too!

Well, I do hope you find it useful and helpful in any of your upcoming projects.
