How to make a Castle Cake
This cake was an order for my son’s school friend’s birthday party. She loves princesses, Barbie and of course castles. (Which 4 year old girl doesn’t?)
She loves the color pink and just adores Princess Aurora so of course the castle had to be pink with Princess Aurora on it.
The mother wasn’t very comfortable with cutting into the castle cake and ruining the towers so I offered to put the castle towers on top as a cake topper so she can keep it long after the birthday was over.
This is a 9” and 6” round. I'm not going to tell you more details because I do have a video on you tube explaining how to make a castle cake.
I also made a video on my previous castle cake that is uploaded on my website http://www.veenaartofcakes.com/ just log in as a member. Membership is free. Watch the video and if you still have any more questions please feel free to ask.

This was the princess Aurora that i made for the cake. I offset the top tier so as to make space for her on the balcony but she still didn't fit... guess what?.... I re-did a smaller one at the tenth minute
Wasn't very happy with the face on the smaller one but I gave the birthday girl both the sugar princess and she was definitely over the moon.
She sent me a lovely picture of herself with the cake and a thank you note. It's always so rewarding when customers take the time to give you feedback. Doesn't it? Makes my day
Until next time. Enjoy cake decorating.

Your video on you tube for the castle cake is the best video. So detailed and well explained. I used it to make two casltes, one for my niece and another for my god daughter.
ReplyDeleteI was afraid I would succeed but your video really helped.
They both were so thrilled and I was amazed at the outcome. Thank you so much. Your cakes are amazing and you explain really well. Thanks.
