Anyway, you remember my resolution for 2012. I placed it on the side bar of my blog to motivate me.
Today I had to make this small 6 inch cake for some one special. So I decided to do some piping work.
I looked on the internet for ideas, tutorials or any information on how to go about doing the Lambert style of piping but nothing. So didn't really have an idea or draw up any design. Just decided to go with the flow.
This is what I came up with.
What do you think? My first Victorian Style cake. Not my best work of course but I honestly thought it was a lot more difficult. Though I wasn't expecting it to take so long. I was slow so it took forever to finish.
Well, I don't really have a tutorial for you but I did take some pictures of the progress to share with you. So if you are a beginner like me perhaps it might help you with your project. Feel free to share any information with me too.
Wilton Tip 199
Wilton Tip 199
These pins are my piping buddies. I find them very useful unlike the toothpicks that make large holes in the cake.
Wilton Tip 3
When you make an error like that the best way to pick it up is a toothpick.
Wilton Tip 2 - Though, I think the latice design would be better with tip 3. Perhaps next time I'll try Tip 3.
Still Tip 2.
Wilton Tip 16 / star tip - Zig zag Top curve
Bottom curveWilton Tip 104
Wilton Tip 3 - inside curve
Wilton Tip 2 for top and Wilton tip 16 for the board
All over piping done with Tip 3 and TIp 2 in lemon yellow.

Side view of the cake - piped dots with tip 3.Placed some fondant flowers on the top center and piped royal icing leaves.
Top view of the finished cake with small flowers and silver degrees for centers.
Well, there's my finished cake.
In conclusion; I can say that though it took forever to finish, it certainly left me wanting to do more. Another thing about this cake I realized it that they do not photograph well. They look a lot more pretty on my table than on picture unlike the other fondant designed cakes.
Well, thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
Happy cake decorating.
This cake definitely looks pretty with a close view.I liked the lattice design, zigzag, string work.Thats a lot of hardwork :)The yellow roses and flowers definitely add the beauty to the cake.
