Today I want to share with you a cake I made a couple of weeks ago. A baby crib cake. I made this for a friend as a gift when she had a new baby boy.
The reason I did not post this so far is because I was so disappointed with myself on not being able to do my best on this cake. I even took progress pictures on how to do the crib but did not post the tutorial.
I wanted to do a lot of work on the baby blanket with little square cut out and animals, duckies........
I just did not have the time!!!
So finally; though I have the progress pictures, I decided I would make a tutorial the next time I make a similar cake but when I am happy with my work.
This was my Chocolate Chiffon Cake, layered with Vanilla Buttercream and frosted with Chocolate Ganache below my homemade fondant.
Here is the baby.
A close up of the baby.
The top view of the baby.
I did put the name of the baby on the pillow so it wasn't so plain.
I do hope I get an opportunity to do this cake again.
Thanks for stopping by.
Looks amazing...
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome ..How did u make the crib stand?
ReplyDeleteThe cake crib is made of gum paste. You can also make it with chocolate using the flooding method. Modelling Chocolate also works. I prefer to use gum paste because it dries in the current summer heat and humidity.
DeleteI hope that helps.
