Toy Story 3 cake with Gumpaste Woddy Bulls-eye and Jessie

Are you guys wondering where I disappeared? I have been really busy.

Today I wanted to share with you my Toy Story 3 Cake. This was the second of my sons birthday cake.
The cake itself is very simple. Bu the sugar models are what make this cake special.

Here he is with his cake beaming happily. He even dressed like a cow boy to school for this birthday party.

Personally I think the there are too many sugar models on the cake. I was suppose to only have woody on the cake because my Aadi is really crazy about woody.

I usually make sure my cakes are ready a couple of hours before they are due. But I was really late in making this one.. At 11 pm I finished making woody and my son say.... 'but mama woody will be alone without bulls-eye and Jessie. I love Bull-eye and Jessie. I want them, I told all my friends you will make them ..."
So I sat a couple hours more to make them too. Kids!!!!!

This is his favorite Light and Fluffy Vanilla Cake recipe and Vanilla Buttercream  and Home made sugar paste and Gum paste recipe.

I wrote the post below but then changed my mind and make this video too..

Here's the rest of the blog post.

I didn't have the time and energy to click too many progress pictures but here are a few I think that should be enough to help you with your project.
Here's Woody.
I started off with these pieces...
Put them together and then made the head.
The lines on the shirt are made with edible red food color pen.
Here's Bulls-eye. I wish I had taken a picture of him alone so he wasn't covered up with Jessie.
 I started with these pieces.
Bull-eye's head.
 Here's Jessie
I started off with these pieces, put them together and then made the face.
Here you can see a close up of them on the cake again.

Here's the back view of the cake.
I think if I wasn't as tired I'd do a better job with them but..... aaahhhhh ... stop complaining Veena!

I do hope you like the cake...

Thanks for stopping by.

    1. Hi Shalu, I understand your disappointment. But I think you did the right thing. You rather give some one your best than some thing you couldn't complete in time.
Loosing business is something every business person has to get use to. It's not a pleasant feeling.
Last week I too had to say no to two orders because my limit is maximum 4 cakes a week. Last week I had 4 cakes plus my son's cake.
For me; more orders means less time for my kids, and they are my priority. So when I take orders I just have to remember what is most important to me.
I'm sure you will get more orders. If you still want to take last minute orders than you have to be prepared for that and offer things that you can make in the time by having things like frostings and accessories ready. For example - a Simple Ganache or Buttercream decorated cake can be done in five hours easily.
I once decorated a fondant cake from start to finish in 2 hours. She even put a nice comment on my website.
All the best. I'm sure you will get more orders.
      Have a good day.
