A Heart Wedding Cake and A 50th Wedding Anniversary Cake

Today I want to share with you two Heart Cakes I did this week. One was a single tier heart wedding cake and the other was a 50th wedding Anniversary cake.

Here's the first -
This Single tier wedding cake I believe was accompanied by 150 cupcakes that were provided by the venue.

Here are the carnations I shared with you in my previous post.
A simple bow. This one is done exactly the same way I showed you in my post how to make a fondant bow... just smaller and on the side of the cake instead of the cake top.
 Here's the second.

A 50th Wedding Anniversary cake. Lucky are those couples who are blessed with each others company for so many years.
My dad passed away when I was two and my mom never remarried. So I know how lucky these couples really are.

This cake was designed with great thought. The couple met for the first time on Valentines day, got married a year later. Today they have four children and eight grand children. Hence the heart cake,  four flowers and eight leaves.
I like how the marbled green border turned out.. soft and subtle. The daisies are made from fondant not gum paste.
Have you noticed that both these cakes are very tall. The wedding cake is tall because it's my Chocolate Chiffon cake with Chocolate Buttercream and the 50th Anniversary cake is three layers of my Vanilla Sponge  Cake with Vanilla Buttercream. Both of course are covered with my home made sugar paste.

I quite like how tall these cakes are and I've made up my mind that in future I'll always try to  use three layers instead of two. That's of course if the customer prefers the height too.

I made a delicious Chocolate Cheese Cake today and I hope to share the recipe with you soon. Next week I have three Princess Doll Cakes, one is for my own little Princess... She's going to be three on Sunday the 3rd of June. And of course the Peter Pan and the Pirate Ship Cake.
You can imagine how busy I will be.

Until next time.

Thanks for stopping by.
