Well, I gave you the recipe for piping gel yesterday. Today I want to share with you what I use the piping gel for.
Personally I am not a big fan of dark colors on my cakes but since this cake was based on Mondrain Art I had to use dark colors.
This is the picture of her window that I used as a reference.
The biggest problem I had was the humidity, My Ac was giving me problems and so the cake was all sweaty and difficult to work with. Not to mention that the piping gel was slipping off the because the squares on the design were quite big.
This is my Light and Fluffy Vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and store bought fondant.
I started of with the black royal icing and divided the cake in four large rectangles.
Then piped the design in each rectangle. I next had these corner triangles to design.
Once I completed the outline with royal icing. I had to start filling.
To avoid confusing myself with so many different colors. I took a brush and colors and just marked the various squares.
Next it was time to fill in the piping gel.
Here's the first yellow. I worked from the light to dark colors.
Continue to fill the squares one color at a time.
And that's the finished cake.. I do hope you like it..
Thanks for stopping by.
Excellent glass effect..looks great.
