Rose Swirl Cake

For those of you who are my face book fans I already shared this picture with you as soon as I made it.  Here are some progress pictures for you.

This is so easy. The next time I have no time to decorate but want to give some one something special - this is it. Simple, easy and beautiful.

This is my Rainbow Cake made with my Light and Fluffy vanilla Cake and  Italian Meringue Buttercream. IMBC

Crumb Coated - doesn't have to be perfect.
I used the Wilton tip 2D, You can also use the 1M.
As you can see this is what you do with the tip. The direction is just a swirl.
I showed you how to do this in my video on cupcakes..
It's exactly the same technique, you start from the inside out.. except there you hold the bag over the cupcake, here you hold the bag perpendicular to the cake sides.
 Here's the first swirl.
I end into a star. You don't have to, you can just pull it tapering off..
Here's the first row.

The second row, goes in between the first so you don't have too many gaps. If you do have a gap just pipe a start with the same tip to fill it.. It usually blends well.
And that's that.. A Rose Swirl cake.
Here's an excellent video tutorial by Lori's bakery on you tube that shows how to do it. Plus she shows you how to do it ombre which means it starts from light to dark.

Thanks for stopping by.
